Honoring Lava Kumar: A Memorial and Fundraiser in His Loving Memory
 
It is with deep sorrow that we remember Lava Kumar, a cherished member of the RHWB community, who passed away suddenly in September at the age of 58. Lava was more than a disciplined runner and avid hiker—he was a kind, humble soul whose warmth and generosity touched everyone he met. His spiritual outlook inspired kindness and compassion, and his ever-present smile reflected his winsome perspective on life.
 
 
Lava was a devoted husband to Sunitha Kumar, a fellow RHWB runner, and a loving father to Meghana and Sanjana Kumar. Outside his successful career as a technologist, his greatest joys were his family, running marathons, hiking trails, and his deep devotion to prayers and meditation.
 
 
In his honor, RHWB Events, a nonprofit organization, is hosting a memorial fundraiser to support his younger daughter, Sanjana, as she completes medical school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Sanjana’s aspiration of becoming a compassionate physician reflects her father’s values of service and selflessness.
 
 
By contributing to this fundraiser, you help Sanjana achieve her goal while honoring Lava’s legacy of kindness and generosity.

All donations are made in US dollars, so the donations may be levied an exchange rate fee via your bank. Donors will want to connect with their bank to determine exactly what that fee may be. Who can sponsor my fundraising efforts?

The short answer is - everyone. The fundraising research shows that the number one reason for people not donating is that they weren't asked to.
