ABOUT 2024 WALK, RUN, RIDE TO THE MOON CAMPAIGN
The Walk, Run, Ride to the Moon returns for its fifth annual edition, merging fitness with fundraising in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. From August 15th to September 17th, participants of all ages can log miles through walking, running, or riding. Each mile helps propel us toward our lunar goal and supports a cause that makes a real difference. We’re thrilled to share that we’re halfway to our moon mission! With a total distance of 238,900 miles to cover, we’ve logged 127,602 miles so far. This year, we aim to close the gap even further with the support and participation of our dedicated community.
In addition to the virtual challenge, we’ll host two in-person events during the campaign. These gatherings will unite participants and community members, fostering unity and celebrating our progress as we work toward our goal. Walk Run Ride to the Moon is more than a fitness challenge — it’s a tribute to community spirit, compassion, and collective effort. With your help, we’re confident we can reach new heights and make a lasting impact.
All funds raised through this event will benefit Self-Help for the Elderly, a non-profit organization that promotes independence, well-being, and dignity for older adults in the San Francisco Bay Area. Serving over 40,000 seniors annually, Self-Help for the Elderly provides essential services and culturally aligned programs to enhance the lives of older adults across multiple counties. Your participation not only supports our journey to the moon but also directly contributes to improving the quality of life for our senior community members.

Engage in Both Physical and Mental Exercise
Our campaign celebrates both traditional fitness and diverse forms of wellness, offering two distinct ways to contribute:
- Miles:
Log your miles through walking, running, or cycling. Each mile brings us closer to our lunar goal and reflects your commitment to physical fitness. For other fitness activities that don’t involve mileage, check our Exercise Conversion Chart to see how minutes spent on these activities are converted into miles.
- Activity Points:
For activities that focus on mental health and overall well-being but don’t involve mileage, use our Activity Points system. This includes practices like yoga, meditation, or strength training.
Unleash Your Competitive Spirit:
