ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Advancing Discoveries, Changing Lives, Curing Melanoma

A Cure in Sight (ACIS) supports families who have ocular melanoma and focuses on research for a cure. Through public and private partnerships, we provide clear and reliable education information and access to a support community for patients and their caregivers. ACIS educates the public about ocular melanoma, treatment options, and clinical trials that may improve a patient’s prognosis, making it less overwhelming. ACIS is dedicated to ongoing research. We know we can accelerate viable research projects that otherwise would stall and not be completed, missing opportunities to advance research for effective treatments and possibly a cure. The Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) is the largest non-profit funder of melanoma research. Since its founding in 2007, MRA has committed $143 million in funding to advance our understanding of this disease. MRA funds projects in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, with the majority of funding allocated for melanoma treatment. MRA’s ultimate goal is to find a cure by funding the most promising melanoma research worldwide that will accelerate progress and improve outcomes for patients and all who are at risk. Thanks to the generous support of its founders, Debra & Leon Black, 100% of every donation to MRA goes directly to melanoma research.
