Climbing - Stairs that is - Across Baltimore
4 years ago this week I learned that the mass in my abdomen was not a fibroid. The docs were "cautiously optimistic" that it might not be cancer. But it was. Through surgery, chemo, more surgery and then lymphedema - all while I was trying to finish my dissertation - HopeWell was a lifeline. I looked forward to Qigong, Healing Images and the Thursday night participant group at HopeWell. As many others have expressed if it had cost anything - I would not have been able to find the oasis and a place to laugh, cry, draw and be meditative. Now, each morning before I go to my office I climb stairs - I climb my way around the Hilton and the Convention Center. My fundraising effort. I climb at least 2 flights from each location. The Hilton both entrances, the exit stairs at the Convention Center - 2 flights from each. There are so many very worthy causes but I can't even express - how much it means when you are battling cancer - to have a place like HopeWell - there is always hope. Always support - but never a charge. Thank you HopeWell.
