Ready to go the extra mile for yourself and to support WHNP research and scholarship?

 

We know that NPWH is your professional association, and we also care deeply about you as people and why we want you to invest in your health and well-being and support the greater women’s healthcare community.

 

For the first time, NPWH is launching a virtual 26-mile Walk/Run from September-December 31. The funds raised will be for grants to support research conducted by WHNPs, particularly to highlight the impact of the WHNP profession. In addition, this race will help support the NPWH Student Ambassador Program.

 

You can walk at your own pace over the next four months any way you wish. The goal is to reach 26 miles by December 31. Whether you're a pro runner or enjoy a leisurely walk, this is your chance to make a difference and support the WHNP profession and give yourself the gift of self-care.

$30 without a T-Shirt

$60 with a T-shirt

  • Share your story and raise funds & awareness.
  • Track workouts anywhere, anytime, and complete your goal.
  • Run or walk at your pace until December 31, 2023.
  • Runners, rally your supporters to fuel your race on social media and in the Charity Footprints platform which will have Fitness and Fundraiser Milestones.

NPWH is the professional community for Women's Health Nurse Practitioners and other advanced practice registered nurses who provide women's and gender-related healthcare. We set a standard of excellence by generating, translating, and promoting the latest research and evidence based clinical guidance, providing high-quality continuing education, and advocating for patients, providers, and the WHNP profession. Our mission includes protecting and promoting a woman and all individuals' rights to make their own choices regarding their health and well-being within the context of their lived experience and their personal, religious, cultural, and family beliefs.

HOW YOUR PARTICIPATION HELPS
One of the areas we need to nurture within the NPWH is research conducted by WHNPs to support the WHNP role in women’s and gender-related healthcare. NPWH will dedicate a portion of the funds raised to support this goal.

“In research roles, WHNPs and other APRNs contribute to expanding our knowledge base and guiding evidence-based practice. By conducting research, publishing findings, and participating in interdisciplinary collaborations, we enhance our understanding of women's health issues and drive breakthroughs in treatments and interventions, “said Dr. Shawana Moore, President, NPWH Board of Directors. “Our commitment to advancing the field leads to improved health outcomes for women across the globe.” 

In addition, the funds raised will go to support the NPWH Student Ambassadors Program designed to usher and nurture the next generation of WHNPs. The program was created to build a national community of women's health nurse practitioner students and to provide those students the opportunity to connect with providers learn from expert women's health nurse practitioners and advanced practice providers at our annual national conference.

How can I create my fundraising page?

Well, you wouldn't have to create a separate fundraising page. Once you register for this campaign, we'll give you the link to your fundraising page.

How will I track my distance?

You can track your workouts by setting up your devices (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch, Health Connect By Android, Misfit, Strava), or download the Charity Footprints' iOS or Android app and track your workouts toward this campaign. ?>

How do I join a team on this campaign?

While registering for the campaign, select the team you'd like to join or create a new team and invite others to #GetFitGiveBack with you. If you want to join a team (or create your team) after registration, login to the campaign site and you would find a link to edit "My Team" in the menu under your profile in the header.

I am an international donor (non-US), what are my donation charges and tax-deductibility?

All donations are made in US dollars, so the donations may be levied an exchange rate fee via your bank. Donors will want to connect with their bank to determine exactly what that fee may be. Additionally, international donors will need to reach out to a tax professional to discuss if and how tax deductibility will apply to their donation.

Who can sponsor my fundraising efforts?

The short answer is - everyone. The fundraising research shows that the number one reason for people not donating is that they weren't asked to.

That said, there are things you can do to attract people to sponsor you. Adding a picture to your fundraising page, telling potential donors why this cause is so personal to you, sharing your fundraising page on social media, email, and chat groups.

Last, if your employer has a gift matching program, check with the human resources department to support your favorite cause as well.
