My Cause
The Mission: Meals on Wheels San Francisco provides a network of services that allow seniors to live in their homes with dignity and independence as long as safely possible. By providing seniors with nutritious meals and daily safety checks, we reduce risks associated with loneliness, depression, and falls.
About the Organization:
In 2022, Meals on Wheels San Francisco (MOWSF) celebrates 52 years of providing older adults residing in the City with what they need to live independent and dignified lives – nutritious meals, professional social work services including daily wellness checks, and a friendly visitor.
MOWSF offers two home-delivered meals daily to homebound senior clients, something no other program does in San Francisco.
Between June 2020 and October 2021, Meals on Wheels San Francisco produced and delivered 2.8 million meals to more than 5,600 homebound seniors in San Francisco as well as individuals and families of all ages who were impacted by COVID-19. The total number of people MOWSF served, of all ages, during that period was 26,080. learn more at: www.MOWSF.org.
