ABOUT RACE AGAINST RESISTANCE CAMPAIGN
Welcome to the 2024 Race Against Resistance! We are thrilled to bring back the popular fundraiser, designed to bring our community together in support of the SHEA Foundation. Whether you are a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just looking for a fun way to stay active while making a meaningful impact, this event is for you! The funds raised will directly support the SHEA Research Network, awards and scholarships for fellows, junior investigators, infection preventionists, epidemiologistsand physicians, and to develop high quality training programs for future leaders in healthcare epidemiology and antimicrobial stewardship. Are you ready to make a difference? Sign up today and join us in the Race Against Resistance! Top 3 participants will be awarded medals at a special ceremony at IDWeek 2024! How it works: Step One: Register Now! You can register as an individual or as a group effort. Step Two: You can race solo, but creating a team will be more fun! On the Race Against Resistance page, you will find an option to “Create a Team”.Click on this and fill in the details such as your team’s name, the goal you aim to achieve, and a description of your team. Invite friends, family and colleagues to join your team. Step Three: Host your own event! We encourage you to get creative and host your own Race Against Resistance event. Whether it’s a community hike, a game night, or a sports event, it will make a tremendous impact towards our goal. Step Four: Donate! Your generous donations will directly help us provide the necessary resources for the Foundation and its programs. Look for the “Donate” button. Step Five: Track your Race Against Resistance activities during the entire month of September. Download the Charity Footprints app or log in from your computer. You have an option to link to your wearable device or manually log your points. Step Six: Share your fundraising page with others so they can support you through donations. Post your page link on social media or send it via text or email to friends and family. Remember to use our hashtag: #RaceAgainstResistance2024 Participants may complete the challenge as individuals or join/create a team. To motivate others and to create a friendly competition, we encourage all participants to log their miles and to submit related photos to the scrapbook. Whether it's physical activities, mindfulness exercises, creative outlets, or self-care routines, these activities aim to uplift and support your mental health, fundraise for the SHEA Foundation, and create awareness for all the wonderful work that our members do on daily basis. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
You can participate in this challenge by doing pretty much anything that elevates your heart rate. This includes walking, running, cycling or any of your favorite fitness activities! Just make sure to log it! For activities that cannot be measured in steps or miles, please refer to the PHYSICAL ACTIVITY CONVERSION CHART below.

MENTAL HEALTH ACTIVITIES
This challenge will not only encourage you to engage in physical fitness activities, but also practice healthy wellness habits!
