"Step up and #JoinTheFight For Kids!"
With children and offenders forced to stay home and spend more time on the internet, the COVID-19 pandemic saw a surge in predators distributing horrific Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) online. Child Rescue Coalition and Charity Footprints joined hands to engage good meaning people in a fitness challenge and raise donations to fund building technology for law enforcement, to track, arrest and prosecute child predators.
A great cause focus with an assist by Blake Lively amplifying the amazing work Child Rescue Coalition does, helped #JoinTheFight campaign go viral within hours of its launch.

SOCIAL MEDIA AMPLIFICATION & GROWTH

#JoinTheFight campaign was set-up with dual goals in mind - to raise money for the development and distribution of Child Rescue Coalition's technology and to raise awareness about the organization. Charity Footprints made these goals a reality by enabling peer-to-peer fundraising capabilities with social media sharing integrations.
Additionally, the Campaign Scrapbook feature made sure that the participants from all over the world were able to share their post workout selfies and encourage others while doing that. The campaign started with a modest goal of 200 participants and 20,000 dollar fundraising goals, and ended with over 7,000 backers raising over 280,000 dollars.

GOING VIRAL & ASSOCIATED CHALLENGES

It was amazing to overshoot the participation goals by 3,500% and the fundraising goals by 1,400%, but this introduced some unexpected challenges for the #JoinTheFight administrators - ensuring that participants stayed engaged throughout the campaign and thus became long term backers of CRC's mission. Charity Footprints' individual and team leaderboards allowed participants to compete with each other and the chat feature allowed the administrators to post regular updates, announcements and keep the group engaged.

ADDING INCENTIVES & GAMIFICATION

We integrated incentives & gamification to this challenge to ensure that participation compliance stayed high and participants always had something to aim forward to. We were thrilled to see that over 93% of the registered participants contributed to the campaign's fitness and/or fundraising goals. In addition to offering prizes/gifts such as medals, certificates, coffee mugs etc. Charity Footprints has been successful in promoting compliance by a variety of digital prizes such as e-Medals (or e-Badges), e-Bibs, e-Postcards and e-Certificates. Such digital prizes can be delivered relatively cheaply and encourages participants to share and promote the campaign on social media and other such channels.

GOING BEYOND RUN-WALK-RIDE

Run-Walk-Ride has been a staple for lots of our non-profit partners, but using Charity Footprints' Activity Points capabilities, Child Rescue Coalition encouraged people to engage in all sorts of physical activities and workouts. Whether someone wanted to do aerobics, go fishing, surf, spin or just do yard work - the campaign enabled participants to report those activities and get "steps" credit for it. This didn't just make sure that non-runners/bikers could participate in the challenge (thus grow the target audience), but it also encouraged participants to engage with organization on a regular basis whether it was a run day or not.

From using Child Rescue Coalition's branding colors, creative, and copy, to custom creating their virtual map route in the shape of as a their teddy bear mascot, we made sure that the campaign wasn't just a cookie cutter race site. GROWING PARTICIPANTS & FUNDRAISING THROUGH CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS

At Charity Footprints, we understand the importance of corporate sponsors to any fundraiser and our automated sponsorship feature allowed Child Rescue Coalition to put their sponsors front and center on the campaign. From customizable sponsorship tiers to automated web and email promotions, #JoinTheFight campaign made sure to promote these corporate partners through out the campaign. Additionally, our custom registration links and corporate team capabilities allowed the campaign administrators to invite the sponsor's employees and staff members to participate along with other Child Rescue Coalition's patrons.
