ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Move with purpose; every step supports education and hope in Afghanistan.

Aid Afghanistan For Education is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and generational illiteracy in Afghanistan. We empower girls and vulnerable children through education. Founded in 2004 in Afghanistan, established an accelerated education program for over 7000 female students. After the return of the Taliban in 2021, AAFE was re-established in the U.S. in 2022. In Afghanistan, girls are banned from education. Our Online English and Computer Literacy Program provides them with a lifeline and the tools they need to pursue online scholarships, access global learning resources, and stay connected with the world beyond their borders. In the shadows of Afghanistan’s ongoing crises, too many children are forced to trade their childhoods for survival. Instead of holding pencils and books, they scavenge through trash, weave carpets in dark corners, or sell pens and plastic bags on crowded streets, often earning less than $0.50 per day to help their families survive. At Aid Afghanistan For Education (AAFE), we believe that every child deserves the right to dream, learn, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. In 2023, we launched the “From Streets to Classrooms” initiative to help rewrite the futures of street-working children. Through this program, we identify and enroll vulnerable children, both girls and boys, into local private schools where they receive a quality education, school supplies, uniforms, books, stationery, backpacks, healthy snacks, and transportation. We also provide their families with essential food items each month.

Our Mission

To unlock the potential of young marginalized Afghans through education as a means to prepare them to fully participate in society.
