In 1999 Faye Dietiker was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast cancer, her world was turned upside down emotionally and physically. however as she sat in the chemo room with other women she realized that there were women in the room with limited monetary resources and were often forced to choose between paying rent, feeding their children, or receiving treatment. She shared the story with friends and family and a they all decided to act. Each person started donating $20.00 a month , this would enable a family not to have to make a choice. This was how Breast Cancer Angels was formed and today there are over 300 Angels who contribute on a monthly basis.
Each year we see a growing number of donations from the corporate community and individuals who donate directly. . Their tremendous gratitude is visible in their expressions and letters, and we see tangible results with how much a little financial help can ease their everyday life during their fight with breast cancer and give them hope. . We are proud to say that for over 22 years, we have been able to support more than 800 woman each year in Southern California. Our Mission
The mission of Breast Cancer Angels is to provide direct financial and emotional assistance for women and their families as they are going through breast cancer treatment. Breast Cancer Angels helps to address the immediate needs of those who are currently in treatment. We provide food, supplies, Gas, Utility bills, Car payments and other day to day needs, partial rent payments and health insurance premiums. We also provide for costs associated with second opinions and final expenses.
