Providing food to those who feed the hungry!

Feed America First is a faith-based 501(c)3 hunger relief organization based in central Tennessee. Our mission is to provide food to those who feed the hungry: simply put, we provide food to food pantries! We accomplish this by first addressing food waste. Did you know over 40% of all the food produced in America ends up in a landfill? Before food reaches grocery stores, it must be grown, manufactured, cooked, processed, packaged, stored, shipped, stocked… in this never-ending supply chain, there are many reasons food never reaches its final destination and sadly might end up in a landfill. The most common reason? Overproduction! That’s right, many manufacturers produce much more than is needed. We are able to save that abundance directly from farms, manufacturers, distribution centers, etc. This is perfectly safe food that is often fresher than you’d even buy at the store! On average, Feed America First saves around a million pounds of food every month from ending up in a landfill. The next issue we address is hunger in small towns and rural areas. We divide and distribute the food we save to over 125 food pantries across TN, AL, KY, and MS. These food pantries are actively involved in feeding their neighbors in need, such as single moms struggling to get by, families facing overwhelming bills each month leaving them unable to afford groceries, elderly on fixed incomes who can’t afford groceries after buying medicine, and so many other reasons why our neighbors struggle to set the dinner table. We are currently expanding our operations to include permanent refrigeration/freezer space in our warehouse, which will allow us to save even more fresh, healthy foods such as fruits, veggies, dairy, and meat. We strive to set the healthiest dinner table possible for our neighbors in need, allowing them to live full and abundant lives! We are so grateful to our donors, volunteers, and supporters who make our work possible. We believe hunger will cease to be a problem in America when we all refuse to allow our neighbors to go hungry!

Our Mission

We believe hunger will cease to be a problem in America when we all refuse to allow our neighbors to go hungry!
