ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Saving lives since 1994
Happy Endings No Kill Cat Shelter is the oldest no kill in the city of Milwaukee. Happy Endings is run solely by volunteers and funded only by donations, fundraisers, adoption fees and merchandise sales. The shelter typically houses 60+ adult cats and countless kittens in only 800 sq ft. About 200 cats are re-homed annually. At least 90% of the cats who come to our shelter have never been to a vet. This means they are not spayed or neutered or up to date on their vaccinations. This lack of vet care places a large burden on us financially. Over $70,000 is spent annually on medical costs alone.
Our Mission
As a no kill cat shelter, our mission is to promote the humane and ethical treatment of abandoned, unwanted, and abused cats through active implementation of the mission and community education. Our specific focus is on promoting the health, rehabilitation and placement of cats into forever loving homes and providing educational outreach within our community.
