ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

#stepoutsavelives

The House of Prayer is a Christ centered, spiritual transformation center for men bound by the strongholds of addiction. The scripture that we focus on is: Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things passed away: behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Our graduates are not a remodeled person, the old man has completely died and all things have become new- never existed before! Our men learn to focus on what the Lord is doing in their lives and what the Lord is leading them to do in their futures. The old man is buried, and our men come to know that they have been created to be a spiritual warrior, to go out to change people's lives and live in the destiny that the Lord created them for. House of Prayer serves approximately 110 men per year. Each man is asked to pay a $500 entry fee and they can stay as long as needed, 6 months being the minimum length of time. No one is turned away if they do not have the fee. The needs of the men are supported by charitable donations from the community, food stamps, proceeds from our thrift shop and money earned by the men while working while in the program. House of Prayer operates out of a 6,000 square foot building. The men attend chapel for biblical teaching, praise and worship and bible study 5 hours a day. They receive instruction from over 35 local men and women of God who volunteer their time. The men live in a refuge environment without the world's distractions so that they can heal and develop a relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help men who are desiring and willing to change. Through Jesus Christ and His redemptive grace, a life of freedom from drugs and alcohol awaits them. This is possible only through an encounter with Jesus the Christ, through the Holy Spirit and living the Word of God.
