ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Inspiring Hope & Empowering Change to End Domestic Violence
Laura’s House was established in 1994 and today provides direct services and
prevention/education and community outreach activities addressing the issue of domestic
violence to all of Orange County (with a population of 3.2 million) and the surrounding
regions of southern California. Our mission statement is: Changing social beliefs,
attitudes and the behaviors that perpetuate domestic violence while creating a safe space
in which to empower individuals and families affected by abuse. Over the past 27 years,
we have provided shelter with support services to approximately 6,500 abused men,
women, and their children and non-residential direct services including 24-hour crisis
intervention, counseling, life skills education, and legal advocacy to nearly 68,000
persons. Our vision is to end the epidemic of domestic violence so that all individuals
and families can lead safe and healthy lives.
