ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Therapeutic Horseback Riding
The Saddle Light Center was established in 1991 as a 501(c)(3) organization to provide therapeutic horseback riding and hippotherapy for the disabled individuals in and around Bexar County. We utilize the horse's movement and conformation to facilitate desired responses in the rider to benefit each client physically, emotionally and socially. We currently have 12 horses in our program, and we serve 50 clients each week. We provide this service 43 weeks out of the year, Monday thru Friday starting at 4 pm and ending at 8 pm.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide equestrian therapy for children, teenagers land adults that have a disability including, neurological, orthopedic, learning and emotional as well as a wide range of others. Our goal is to inspire our riders to achieve accomplishments previously considered beyond their capabilities.
