ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Outreach Free Clinic and Resource Center (formerly Brandon Outreach Clinic) was established in 1987 by a group of concerned individuals in the Brandon Community to create a way for uninsured individuals to access health care. Lacking financial resources to purchase medical care many of these uninsured individuals were going without treatment or were seeking health care in the emergency room. In addition to physicians and nurses, the planning group was composed of pharmacists, social workers, clergy,
attorneys, and bankers. Their vision was to create a safety net for uninsured individuals who were falling through the health care gap.
The clinic opened its doors in April 1989 and was staffed entirely by volunteers.
Serving all of Hillsborough County, Outreach Free Clinic and Resource Center provides both acute care and basic primary care. In addition, we also provide preventative care that includes health screenings, well-woman exams, and health education. The clinic has also expanded its services to assist patients to find additional resources and services that are
available to them.
Our Mission
Outreach Free Clinic and Resource Center’s mission is to improve and manage the health care of low-income, uninsured residents.
