ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

When native birds have been found injured, orphaned, or ill, the community turns to Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research.

The mission of Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research is to provide professional, compassionate rehabilitation to native injured and orphaned wild birds and contaminated wildlife, and to promote their stewardship through education and humane research. We envision a world where informed communities demonstrate respect and care for native wildlife through responsible stewardship. Our Wild Bird Clinic admits more than 3,000 native wild birds annually from 50+ counties in Delaware and surrounding states. For most patients, we offer the best, if not only, chance at a healthy return to the wild. Our Oiled Wildlife Response team is on call 24/7/365 to assist compromised wildlife regionally, nationally, or internationally, and through contingency planning and training prior to a spill, works to lessen the impact of contamination events on our natural resources. We place a high priority on educating the community about wildlife rehabilitation and ways we can minimize our impact on wildlife.
